The Front-End Development course is a 12-week (72 hours in class plus lab) course offered in partnership with SCCC’s workforce (non-credit) side.
The Front End Web Development class is designed for students newer to coding. Through lecture and individual assignments, students will establish solid foundations in key tools of front-end developers: HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, jQuery, JavaScript/jQuery, and collaborative workplace/version control tool Github. This course meets two evenings per week, three hours per session. Occasional labs outside of class meetings will provide further opportunities for mentoring and networking opportunities. Applicants should be passionate about web and mobile design, and motivated to build web pages that are visually appealing and functionally engaging.
Tuition for Fall 2018 Front End Web Development course at SCCC (Albany) is $1,500 per student, but through SCCC there are some tuition grant funds available for students who meet criteria of the grant donors. Examples of grant criteria for federal or state tuition include: underemployed or unemployed persons, veterans, persons with disabilities, and other demographics.
